Having lived these last seventy four years in the mid south of America, the experiences of life here in Arkansas have run the gamut from KKK parades to hippies, yelow dog democrats to a New York republican millionaire getting elected governor.
Bill Clinton raised our appreciation of the greater world and the onslaught of conservative republicanism has made the old time Dixiecrats look like grade school bullies. And now we have the pandemic upon us.
In the small community of my life, many friends have embrassed the Trumpite version of the republican ethos like a wet,newly baptised Christian. They believe we live in a country of physical danger, racial hatred and ethnic superemacy. It is difficult to grasp the current reality. Many of these gun toting, confederate flag waving, racially motivated folks were simply nice, happy, kind and patriotic Americans before the republican party convention of 2016. Somehow they drank the Koolaid of hate, distrust and buffonery at the moment their collective fingers pressed the voting machine lever next to the name Trump.
And now we are in the conspiracy of the Covid 19.” What? ya want me to me ta wear a goddamn mask? Hell no! My President won’t wear one and I’m sure as hell not going to! I’m a man and real men don’t hide behind no damn silly mask! There ain’t no covid anyhow, that’s all a hoax being pushed on us by the democrats and their new world order allies. You ain’t gonna catch me or any of mine wearing a mask”. And on and on and on…….
So now to the heart of this diatribe. There really is a hoax regarding the Covid 19 Pandemic but it ain’t the one Bubba thinks it is! The real hoax is that the Trumpites are themselves are being hoaxed. Those purpertrating the REAL hoax are hoping that by their efforts to convince the good folks of this Great Country that there isn’t a covid 19 pandemic, they weaponize this pandemic desease against the very ones they have convinced there is no pandemic. As these sabatours shout their virulentl cacaphony of “NO PANDEMIC”, the greater they are able to damage our country by having the good people they have dupted spread the contagion by not wearing masks, distancing and being thoughtful of the health of others. If one were a Christian and trying to live the Christ-like life, the No Maskers have simply decided that Jesus’ Golden Rule was not actually a rule, just a gilt covered suggestion.. The recruits to the “NO PANDEMIC” cause grows daily, much like they are causing covid 19 deaths and infections to spread by their indolence.
